Kiwanis is a worldwide organization of men and women that provides an excellent opportunity to combine fellowship, community service and personal leadership development. We assist a variety of local causes by providing leadership and manpower for the ten or more community service projects we implement each year. In addition, we provide cash contributions, raised through fund-raising projects, to support other community activities.

The Kiwanis Club of Montgomery County-Blacksburg has about 50 active members. Our club meets from noon until 1 p.m. every Thursday at the Ryan's Steakhouse, New River Valley Mall, Christiansburg. Our noon meetings feature a variety of speakers who make brief presentations on topics of interest and concern to our community.

Montgomery County and Blacksburg are located in southwest Virginia, about 40 miles west of Roanoke on Interstate Route 81. Blacksburg is the home of Virginia Tech, Virginia's land grant university, and the largest university in the state. Blacksburg is also the home of the "Blacksburg Electronic Village", an internationally recognized pilot project extending computer access to all residents of the town.
