Finance and Facilities
As finance committee:
- Supervise Stewardship Committee
- Develop and present annual budget of the church, based upon
recommendations from other committees
- Supervise Treasurer, Associate Treasurer, and bookkeeping

- Regularly report to the Session regarding financial condition of the
church
- Coordinate the security, counting, and depositing of
contributions
- See that financial records are maintained in a safe, confidential
manner
- Plan and oversee a purchasing system
- Oversee church investments
- Maintain necessary insurance and other miscellaneous protection
needed
- Arrange and prepare for an annual financial audit according to the
Book of Order

As facilities committee:
- Oversee and maintain buildings, grounds, equipment, fixtures –
lawn maintenance, snow removal, lighting, accessibility, playground,
parking, etc.
- Negotiate and supervise service contracts
- Determine and supervise facility usage agreements; determine rental
fees, if any; supervise church secretary in maintaining calendar of
usage
- Provide for building security
- Set annual and long-range goals in concert with needs of other

As Human Resources Committee:
- Develop and maintain a process to fulfill volunteer personnel needs

Committee for music personnel)

- Interpret work of Presbytery, Synod, and General Assembly

- Provide for a pastor’s discretionary fund
- Oversee sister church relationship
- Investigate and make recommendations regarding special requests for
local ministries

in a timely manner (local and denominational)

and with members, friends, and visitors

- Provide, together with the pastor, for regular and special worship
services at Northside Presbyterian Church
- Oversee the church’s program of worship and music
- Help the Session study and respond to theological issues.
- Provide for special seasonal programming (Lent, Easter, Advent,
etc.)
- Together with Human Resources committee, prepare job descriptions,
evaluations, and guidance for organist and choir directors
- Together with the Finance and Facilities Committee, provide for
appropriate seating, lighting, and other worship furnishings, including
musical instruments, sound system, hymnals, etc.
- Provide guidelines for the conduct of weddings and funerals
- Make annual budget recommendations to the Finance and Facilities
Committee
Sanctuary Subcommittee
- Provide for ushers for worship services
- Maintain an accurate record of worship attendance
- Provide sanctuary appointments for regular and special worship
services (including such things as chair set-up and removal, paraments,
flowers, Chrismon tree, seasonal decorations, banners)
- Provide for the celebration of the sacrament of the Lord’s
Supper (servers, methods, equipment)
- Provide for the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper to be delivered
to shut-ins, nursing homes, etc.
- Provide for trained persons to operate the church sound system
