"What is missing from the NRA?"

YOU ARE! If you haven't joined the NRA, then now is the time to do so! Your rights as a gun owner have never been more at risk than they are today. Little by little the United States Government are whittling away at the right to keep and bear arms as gaurunteed in the 2nd Amendment in the United States Constitution. With the help of such anti-firearm organizations as Handgun Control, Inc. and the Violence Policy Center, the public in inundated with anti firearm propeganda that is presented in such a way to make the average citizen turn anti-gun. If you don't think this is a factor in the New River Valley, look at some of the anti-gun propeganda printed in the Roanoke Times. Look at the stance taken by local elected officials on the issue of Gun Control. If you haven't looked at these, than I suggest you do so immediatly. It is truly an eye opening experience.

"What can I do about protecting my right as a law abiding citizen of the United States to keep and bear arms?"

Join the NRA now! And I mean RIGHT now! The NRA is the only formidable lobby organization that stands in the way of gun grabbing politicians. Over 100 years old, the NRA employees over 300 men and women who are highly dedicated  to protecting your rights. The NRA is also composed of millions of gun owners of varying ethnic, social and economic backgrounds, all sharing a firm comitment to the Constitutional Right to Keep and Bear Arms. This means you and me! We make up the NRA and without us, there is no NRA. That means, NO protection of our  rights, NO voice that the politcians will listen to and eventually NO guns, period. If you don't believe me, look at what happened to England, Australia, Canada and Germany without a group like the NRA representing the gun owners. So far the first three haven't seen any major ramifications from their total gun confiscation. What about Germany? If you don't know what happened with Germany, look back in your history books and see what happened when a certain rising Nazi politician confiscated all of the privatly owned firarms in the country.

"How can I join?"

For more information, look at the NRA's website at www.nra.org. There you will find lots of pro-gun literature and ideas on how you can help the battle. If you want to join the NRA, contact your local NRA Recruiter or any member of the NRA. They will be greatly pleased to have your help. Don't stay in the background, taking advantage of th ehard work put into upholding rights that you enjoy , step up to the front line and pick up the mantle. Don't think that this does not affect residents of the New River Valley, it affects every law abiding citizen of the United States and It will take everyone of us to win the battle ahead!
