Auditions for OLIVER!

Summer Musical Enterprise announces the audition dates for its 2005 season production of OLIVER.

Pre-Audition Workshop
The directors for Oliver! will be holding an Audition Workshop on Thursday, March 10 at 6:30 pm in the Blacksburg Public Library Community Room. Anyone interested in auditioning is encouraged to attend. The directors will explain the audition requirements and process as well as the rehearsal and performance committment needed.

Audition Information

When:

Thursday, March 17th

6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Friday, March 18th 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Saturday, March 19th 9:00 a.m. - noon

  • Recent 3 X 5 color photo (school photo is fine);
  • Concise resumé highlighting theatrical & musical background;
  • Wear comfortable clothes and shoes;
  • One song for chorus not from OLIVER!
  • For Specific Principal Roles be prepared to sing the following selections:

  •  Sheet music (available from local music store or www.sheetmusic.com)

  Additional requirements for chorus (adult and children):

1. Adults: 1 prepared song of your choice, either ballad or up-tempo OR “Food Glorious Food” OR “Consider Yourself” from Oliver!
2. Children: Be prepared to sing “Happy Birthday” OR “Food Glorious Food” OR “Consider Yourself” from Oliver!
3. Be prepared to demonstrate the ability to perform simple stage movements.
