The opening picnic for Oliver! will be held on Monday, May 30 from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. at Nellie's Cave Park in Blacksburg. Members of the cast, orchestra, and production team, and their families are invited to attend, as well as SME members and other individuals interested in helping with the show. Please bring a dish to share. Paper products, hot coals and drinks will be provided. It's a fun time to get together and meet the people you'll be working with this summer. The park has a baseball field, basketball court and playground, so bring any type of sports equipment you'd like and we'll set up a few games. Hope to see you there!!!

Oliver! Business at the Picnic:
We will be taking care of several business items, so please look at the list and be prepared to take care of any necessary business with us so we can hit the ground running at our first rehearsal in two weeks (yes two weeks from today)!

• We will be collecting membership forms and t-shirt orders;
  - so bring your forms and checkbook - we will will have additional forms
  - the last date for t-shirt orders is June 3 - you will have the t-shirt for the July 4th parade
• We will be discussing rehearsal schedules, so bring your calendar;
• We will be updating vacation schedules, so bring your calendar;
• We will be taking pictures for our call board, so bring your smile;
• We will be measuring for costumes;
• We will be lining up volunteers so let us know who else wants to join us;
• Come to have some fun, so bring your families, friends & volunteers.

Directions from Narrows/Blacksburg:
From Main Street in Blacksburg, proceed south past Gables Shopping Center to the Red Carpet Inn. Turn left onto Marlington Avenue. At the T, turn right onto Grissom Lane. Follow Grissom until it dead-ends at Nellie’s Cave Park. We’ll be under the picnic shelter.

Directions from Christiansburg/Roanoke:
Take 460 Bypass to Blacksburg. Follow the Downtown exit sign. You’ll emerge on South Main Street. Continue past the Wendy's to the Red Carpet Inn. Turn right onto Marlington Avenue. At the T, turn right onto Grissom Lane. Follow Grissom until it dead-ends at Nellie’s Cave Park. We’ll be under the picnic shelter.

Directions from Radford/Pulaski:
Take Rt. 114 (Pepper's Ferry Road) through the mall and take 460 Bypass North to Blacksburg. On the 460 Bypass, follow the Downtown exit sign. You’ll emerge on South Main Street. Continue past the Wendy's to the Red Carpet Inn. Turn right onto Marlington Avenue. At the T, turn right onto Grissom Lane. Follow Grissom until it dead-ends at Nellie’s Cave Park.
