The Smithfield Preston Foundation was initiated to provide funding stability for the preservation and interpretation of historic properties, with the approval of the local and state APVA.  The Foundation aspires to enlighten our community, especially our children and the generations to follow, by fostering renewed awareness and honest memories of those who built this region and nation, and to provide a cultural anchor for southwestern Virginia through this historic house, Smithfield.
