Regional Dance Web Sites
The Virginia Tech YMCA-
The VT YMCA Provides dance lessons and events through their Open University Program.
The classes are a great way to get started or to advance your "danceability".
Swing Roanoke-
Swing Roanoke hosts dances and weekly classes.
The Roanoke Area Chapter of USA Dance (formerly USABDA)-
The Roanoke Valley chapter of USA Dance (formerly the United States Amateur Ballroom Dancers Association)
serves Roanoke city and the surrounding areas.
This chapter promotes awareness and enjoyment of ballroom dance throughout Southwestern Virginia.
The Mountain Empire Chapter of USA Dance

Dances are usually held on the 3rd Saturday of the month preceeded by a lesson at 7:30.
Professionally taught afternoon Ballroom workshops are offered on dance Saturdays about every 3 months.
Events are in Wytheville / Rural Retreat (just a short drive from the NRV.)
Charlottesville Swing Dance Society-
CSDS has weekly practice dances and monthly dances in Charlottesville.

Baltimore Swing Dance Page-
There are swing dances every Friday night at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
The dancing is mostly East Coast swing with some West Coast swing and Cha-Cha.
An introductory workshop in single-step East Coast swing begins at 8:00 PM.
The dance is from 9:00 PM until midnight.
Dances are also held the second Saturday of the month in Catonsville.
Blue Ridge Country Dancers / Floyd Contradance-
2nd Saturday (usually) contra dances held in Floyd's Winter Sun Theater.
The Old Time Music and Dance Group-
Clogging and square dancing to live "old-time" fiddle music in Blacksburg offers a fun alternative for dancers.
This group hosts the Traditional Mountain Square Dances and the Old Time Jams.
Terry Dean's Dance Studio
- Located in Charlottesville, this dance school teaches pretty much
every type of floor dancing you could imagine.
