We are a church community made up of people from all walks of life from all around the New River Valley. Our desire is to be a blessing and to show our love to God, to each other, and to our community and world.
~ Loving Christ ~
Tried Stone
was established in 1985 by a group of people who wanted the freedom to
know and worship God from their hearts instead of out of "religious tradition"
or formality. We enjoy worshipping God in a relevant and contemporary
manner. The Bible calls this "worshipping in Spirit and Truth."
We also show our love to God by following the teachings and instructions
that He gave us in the Bible. Jesus said "if you love me, keep my
commandments."
~ Loving Each Other ~
We believe in extending our
love to each other through many practical ways. We have small groups, or “cell groups” that meet
throughout the region. These cell groups help to form community for people and provide them with
ways to get involved. In these cells we study the Bible while allowing time for questions and
discussion. We also take time to pray for each other’s needs and offer encouragement to those going
through hard times. We also show our love to each other through family and servant ministries.
We have teen services and events as well as children’s ministries for all ages. It is our desire
to minister to the whole family.
~ Loving The World ~
Another way we put our faith into
practice is by helping to support other ministries in our community and around the world.
Within the New River Valley we support such ministries as PAR-FM
Radio Station, Caring Pregnancy Center, Blacksburg and Dayspring Christian Schools, and The Food
Pantry, which feeds about 300 families a month.
Around the world, we currently support missionaries, orphanages,
and aid organizations in such countries as India, Cambodia, Vietnam, Haiti, Jamaica, Ecuador, and Mexico.
Some of the organizations we support are Franklin Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse, Mission of Mercy, Teen Challenge
and BUSES International.
