The Virginia Tech Faculty Women's Club (VTFWC) funds two scholarships each year for Virginia Tech women who are rising seniors. The Ways and Means Committee of VTFWC raises funds and members make contributions for the Scholarships which are approximately $1,200 each. The Community Foundation of the New River Valley (CFNRV) oversees the Scholarship Selection Policies, Procedures and Criteria. The scholarship selection process is in keeping with the requirements of H. R. 4, the Pension Protection Act of 2006, and as provided for the Foundation's Scholarship Fund Policy. The mission of the Virginia Tech Faculty Women's Club is to foster the intellectual and professional development of women attending Virginia Tech.
Applications are posted on web sites: FASTWEB.ORG and FINAID.ORG and announced in other local publications such as the Collegiate Times.
Women currently attending Virginia Tech who are rising seniors may apply. Transfer and graduate students are not eligible. Applicants should have a minimum QCA of 3.6. The awards are based on scholarship, curricular and extracurricular activities, service, and financial need.

The information collected from the applications are reviewed only by the scholarship committees of the Virginia Tech Faculty Women's Club and the Community Foundation of the New River Valley and the Financial Aid Office of Virginia Tech for the purpose of scholarship selection. All email addresses are for the purposes of the scholarship selection of 2010-2011 and will not be circulated to vendors nor will be used in the future by the Virginia Tech Faculty Women's Club once the scholarship selection is complete. No distribution lists are generated from emails received.

The winners of the scholarships presented at the April 2009 VTFWC luncheon were Katherine Dowdy, a student in Biological Sciences, and Lindsay Elizabeth Hall, a student with a major in Environmental Policy and Planning.
